Jie Shen
PhD Candidate in Chinese Archaeology
Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Stanford University
I am a Ph.D. student in Chinese Archaeology in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Stanford University. I mainly focus on the crafting technology of organic materials in ancient China and the East Asian oracle bone divination system.
I love handicrafting and combining it with my research, which has made me an amateur leather crafter, a bone worker, and an always-missing archer.
Meanwhile, I’m the main writer of a professional archaeology blog, “Sixtrowels 六把铲” on WeChat Official Account, which is devoted to sharing study, fieldwork, and application experience with archaeology students. We have already published 141 articles and attract 12k followers.
